Rangers have agreed a deal with Bournemouth for midfielder Joe Rothwell, according to reports.

The 30-year old spent last season on loan at Leeds United and played a key role in their promotion-winning campaign.

Rothwell also spent six months on loan at Southampton the season before in the Championship under Russell Martin.

Sky Sports are now reporting a deal has been agreed between Rangers and Rothwell's parent club Bournemouth for a permanent deal.

The former England youth international came through the ranks at Manchester United before making a move to Oxford United in 2016.

He also spent four years with Blackburn Rovers in the Championship before signing for Bournemouth.

Rothwell made 31 Premier League appearances for the Cherries in 18 months before winning promotion with both Southampton and Leeds in back-to-back loan spells.

Russell Martin's only signing this window has been Rothwell's former teammate Max Aarons.

Lyall Cameron also joined following his pre-contract agreement earlier this year.
