Partick Thistle appoint Ian Baraclough as sporting director
Partick Thistle have appointed Ian Baraclough as their first ever sporting director.
The former Motherwell and Northern Ireland manager joins the Firhill side with immediate effect.
Baraclough was most recently director of football at National League side AFC Fylde.
The Firhill side currently occupy the final promotion play-off spot in the Scottish Championship with interim co-managers Brian Graham and Mark Wilson in charge.
Speaking to the club's official website, Baraclough said: Ian said: “I am excited to be on board at Partick Thistle and I am looking forward to getting started.
"I know from my previous time in Scotland that Partick Thistle is an iconic club with a great history and to be joining as it approaches its 150th birthday early next year is pretty special.
“I met the General Manager Levi Gill and some of the Directors for the first time during the application process and I am meeting up with the interim management team of Brian Graham and Mark Wilson today.
“A big part of the rest of the week will be meeting everyone else who works for the club whether they be players or backroom staff.
“An exciting end of the season is in store as the Men’s First team look to secure fourth place and push for promotion. I am looking forward to helping out as much as I can.”
