Man seriously assaulted in Alexandria on Tuesday night

Officers are investigating after a man was seriously assaulted in Alexandria on Tuesday evening.

The 37-year-old was leaving a taxi when an unknown man approached him and attacked him on the corner of Brooke Avenue and Miller Road in the town.

The man was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital for treatment and later transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

Enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances.

Detective Constable Jack Muir said: “I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident and hasn’t already spoken to police to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who was in the area and may have dash cam or private CCTV footage which could assist to contact us.”
