An 81-year-old man has been killed in a crash with a van while he was riding an electric bike on a road in Argyll.

He died at the scene of the collision on the A815 alongside Loch Fyne just after half past eleven yesterday morning.

Another man driving the transit van was not hurt.

The road was closed to allow for investigations and it was re-opened at around 7pm.

Officers are now appealing for information and say enquiries are ongoing.

Sergeant Archie McGuire said: “My thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died at this difficult time.

“I would urge anyone who may have been in the area around the time of the crash and witnessed what took place, or has any dashcam footage which could assist, to please get in touch with officers.”
