Leanne Crichton appointed head coach of Rangers Women
Last updated 4th Aug 2025
Leanne Crichton has been appointed as the new head coach of Rangers Women.
The former Scotland international leaves her role as part of Glasgow City's coaching team to step into her first management job.
Crichton takes over from Jo Potter who left the club at the end of last season to take over at Crystal Palace.
Potter won both the Women's Scottish Cup and the SWPL Cup twice but was unable to find success in the league.
Rangers have missed out on the SWPL 1 title on the final day in the last two seasons.
The appointment comes less than two weeks before the start of the new campaign where Rangers travel to play Montrose on the opening weekend.
Crichton earned over 70 caps for her country as a player and featured at club level for the likes of Glasgow City, Celtic and Hibernian.
Speaking to the club's official website, Crichton said: “I would firstly like to thank the fans for the warm welcome, bringing me into the club and accepting me.
“I just ask them to come on that journey with us. We’ll be an exciting team to watch, a successful team, and for me it’s a huge privilege and honour to be here.
"I know that with the fans, combined with the team and quality we have, that there will be exciting things to come.
“Rangers are renowned with winning. Second best isn’t acceptable here. For us, the aim and the ambition will be to deliver a successful team on the pitch and that silverware is ultimately the goal.”
