Glasgow hospital treating seriously injured pensioner after Denny crash

An elderly woman has been taken to hospital seriously injured after a car crash in Denny.

The pedestrian was on Netherhmains Road around 3pm today when it happened.

Emergency services took the 76-year-old to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow for treatment.

The driver of the white Suzuki SX4 car involved was uninjured – a 38-year-old woman has been arrested in connection with a road traffic offence and enquiries are ongoing.

Constable Ian Marshall, of the Road Policing Unit in Stirling, said: “An investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances which led to this incident.

“I would urge any witnesses or anyone who have dash-cam footage from the area to get in touch.

“Please call 101, quoting reference 1873 of 9 January, 2025.”
