Long-delayed upgrades to St Botolph’s Circus roundabout in Colchester will get under way next month.

The £15m project will remove old underpasses, add safer crossings, and make the area more welcoming for pedestrians.

The works are expected to be completed by autumn 2027.

Council leader David King said: “This is great news for the regeneration of our city. We are at last addressing the key gateway, it’s been long needed.

"This will be a step change for many entering our city.”

The council is also using a £40m funding pot to revamp St Nicholas Square.
