George Dennis was seriously injured in a collision involving a lorry
An 11-year-old boy who died following a road collision in Ongar has been remembered by his heartbroken mother for his “kindest heart” and “cheeky smile.”
George Dennis was seriously injured in a crash with a lorry on Epping Road at 4.20pm last Friday (10th July).
He was rushed to hospital but died later.
The driver of the lorry, a 48-year-old man from Derbyshire, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.
Paying tribute to George, his mum, Emma Dennis, shared the impact he had on everyone who crossed his path.
"Our beloved son, George Dennis, was just 11 years old when he tragically died on Friday following a road traffic collision," Emma said.
She described him as "a bright light in our lives" who possessed "the kindest heart, a cheeky smile, and a personality that was truly one of a kind"
Emma said George was someone who "was full of life," constantly bringing joy to those around him.
His friends have been profoundly affected by his loss, with Emma noting, "They have lost not just a classmate, but a loyal friend and teammate."
George, a devoted Tottenham Hotspur supporter, was known for his passion for football, often "shouting at the telly" during matches.
Emma lovingly recalled: "A noise I will miss for a lifetime."
George leaves behind a brother, two sisters, and numerous family members who cherished him deeply.
"He was not only a much-loved son but also an amazing brother, grandson, nephew, cousin, and friend," said Emma.
Despite the overwhelming grief, the family says it has been touched by the extensive support from friends, neighbours, and even strangers who have shown kindness during this difficult time.
Emma continued: "Every message, every flower, every kind word and every act of support and kindness has meant more than we could ever express."
George's family will remember him as "our everything," with Emma adding: "He will be loved forever, missed every single day, and remembered always."
Meanwhile, police continue to investigate the incident and urge anyone with information or dash cam footage to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
