Teenager knocked unconcious during assault in South Ockenden

The victim reportedly had petrol poured on him while he was incapacitated

Essex Police have arrested two teenage boys in connection with a serious assault in South Ockenden.

A teenage boy was reportedly attacked by a gang of people in Broxburn Drive just after 9pm on the 14th of March.

He was knocked unconscious during the assault, and petrol was alleged to have been poured on him while he was incapacitated.

The victim has since recovered and is receiving support from authorities during the investigation.

The suspects, aged 16 and 17 from South Ockendon, were arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning grievous bodily harm and administering a noxious substance.

They have been released on bail as investigations continue.

Detectives believe there were witnesses to the incident and are appealing for anyone with information or relevant footage to come forward.
