Aaryan Aggarwal charged after Essex Police investigation into offensive Instagram post
A 19-year-old from Chigwell is set to appear in court charged with sending an offensive message as part of an Essex Police investigation into online racial abuse targeted at England footballer Jess Carter.
Aaryan Aggarwal, of Dickens Rise, was arrested last year after a report of a racist message posted on Instagram concerning the Lionesses defender.
Essex Police have since charged Aggarwal under communications legislation for conveying an indecent or offensive message.
He is scheduled to appear at Colchester Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 21st July 2026. The case forms part of ongoing efforts to address online abuse and racism in sport.
