Stolen motorbikes and e-bikes seized in Clacton following police investigation
A man has been arrested and since released under investigation
A man in his twenties has been arrested after police found stolen motorbikes and a stash of e-bikes in Clacton.
Officers were called to Forest Park Avenue on Sunday afternoon and made an arrest in a back garden.
Four electronic bikes, mopeds, dirt bikes, and suspected stolen tools and weapons were also recovered.
Essex Police was alerted to suspicious activity by a member of the public at 3:30pm on Sunday 5th July.
During a property search two motorbikes were located which had been reported as stolen.
The man in his twenties was arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, theft from a motor vehicle and possession of an offensive weapon.
Chief Inspector Stuart Austin said: “Vehicle crime in all its forms is not tolerated in Tendring and we’re taking very robust action against those we believe to be involved.
“Our teams are hugely committed to tackling this problem and the criminal activity which can often go on alongside it – such as the use of e-bikes, which are uninsured and not legal on our roads.”
