Three charged in connection with serious assaults in Southend
Two victims were found in different locations, one is still in hospital
Three people have been charged following two serious assaults in Southend last Saturday morning.
The assaults happened near York Road around 5.20am on 18th April, with two male victims found in different nearby locations shortly after.
A 52-year-old man remains in hospital after the attack, and a 33-year-old man has been bailed until 16th July after also facing charges.
The investigation led to arrests on Wednesday, with those charged appearing at Southend Magistrates’ Court today.
Wayne Reed, 48, Michael Shannon, 46, and Jessica Gill, 45, have all been charged with violent disorder, alongside varying counts of grievous bodily harm and weapon possession.
They remain in custody with a scheduled hearing on 23rd May.
Detective Inspector Steve Franklin reassured the community of ongoing efforts to address violent crime in Southend, emphasising a no-tolerance policy and encouraging residents to report concerns.

Stefan Evans faces an upcoming court date at Basildon Crown Court on 18th May, while another suspect, a 47-year-old arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, is released on bail until 2nd June.
