Scale of Pitsea Community Diagnostic Centre now visible
The building is due to open in Summer 2027
Following six weeks of installation of almost 160 modular units by crane, the scale of Pitsea's Community Diagnostic Centre is now visible.
The 5,500 square metre building is set to become the largest CDC and wellbeing centre for Essex.
The next stage for the project is bricklaying, groundworks, laying the floor, and further internal works.
The CDC is due to open in Summer 2027, bringing a wide range of essential health tests and checks together in one convenient location.
It is estimated that the building will provide 120,000 extra appointments each year.
MRI scans, x-rays, ultrasounds and blood tests are some of the things that will be offered at the new site.
The goal is to reduce waiting times, speed up diagnoses, and ease pressure on hospitals across Mid and South Essex.
It is one of four new diagnostic centres being developed across the area, with centres in Thurrock and Southend already open. Braintree's CDC is expected to open later this year.
