Proposal for 110 new homes near Maldon refused
A worried neighbour said that plans would cause "beyond ridiculous" harm to their home
Proposals for 110 new homes near Maldon have been rejected, following complaints and concerns.
A worried neighbour, who has lived in their home for 26 years said they find it "quite unbelievable" that plans had been recommended approval, and that "the harm it would cause to my household is beyond ridiculous."
Maldon South councillor Kevin Lagan also raised concerns, saying the "loss of farmland is worrying", and that other councillors should "think carefully."
A spokesman for the developer said the site is "logical" and that there are "no objections from consultees on landscape, ecology, flood risk, heritage noise or air quality."
They say: "Any harms are extremely limited whereas the benefits are substantial."
