£225,000 of investment into Hadleigh Country Park by Essex County Council is leading to upgrades to two pump tracks.

Works have already begun into the tracks, which will be revamped and modernised, making them compatible with bikes, scooters, skateboards and roller skates.

It will also be accessible for riders of all ages, with tracks useful for beginners to more experienced riders.

Works are expected to be completed by the beginning of December.

Councillor Russell Quirk, Deputy Leader of Essex County Council, said: “We’re delighted to continue investing in Essex Country Parks. Following £335,000 of investment in children’s play areas earlier this year, these improvements to the Hadleigh pump tracks demonstrate our ongoing commitment to enhancing opportunities for residents and visitors to enjoy the outdoors.

“The upgraded pump tracks will be state of the art and modernised for future visitors of all ages to use and enjoy.

“Along with the pump tracks, there are mountain bike and walking trails and play areas at Hadleigh, which offer plenty of opportunities for people to get active to improve their mental and physical health whatever their age or fitness level.”

Hadleigh Country Park was home to the London 2012 Olympic Games mountain biking.

The county council hopes the investment in Hadleigh will help the next generation of riders.
