Essex Police's rural engagement officers have seized a quadbike following reports of night poaching in Cressing.

The reports told of a quadbike being used for pursuing hares and rabbits at around 8pm on the 19th of September.

PC James Nickless said: “We seized the quadbike using our powers under section 59 of the Police Reform Act 2002, which allows us to seize any vehicle being driven in an anti-social manner."

“We are working to identify the owner and our inquiries into the incident are continuing."

“We won’t tolerate poaching and hare coursing, which causes great distress to our rural communities. Seizing vehicles linked to such criminal activity helps to disrupt it.”
