Essex police appeal for anyone with information after they were called to Lincolns Lane in Pilgrim's Hatch at about 5.45am on Wednesday 19 March.

They discovered the body of a man in his 30s.

He was pronounced dead at the scene and a cordon is in place while officers conduct their enquiries.

Police are calling on anyone with doorbell or dashcam footage from the area of Lincolns Lane and Coxtie Green Road on the evening of Tuesday 18 March and the morning of Wednesday 19 March.

Detective Chief Inspector Greg Wood said: “I would like to reassure the community that this is not a murder investigation, but rather an investigation into how, sadly, this man came to be found at the roadside.

“We are pursuing multiple lines of enquiry to establish the facts of this case, particularly around the circumstances in which this man died.

“While I know this incident will be shocking for the community, I would ask those locally to think carefully about anything they may have seen or heard on Tuesday night and Wednesday morning in the vicinity of Lincolns Lane.

“In particular, doorbell of dashcam footage of people or vehicles seen in Lincolns Lane, in this timeframe may be key.

“We now have our online portal active for anyone to submit the information they have regarding our investigation.

“We would also encourage the public not to speculate about the circumstances of this incident, in particular on social media.”
