Police appeal after woman dies following collision in Rayne

Detectives investigating a serious collision in Rayne have confirmed a woman has sadly died in hospital.

Essex Police was called to the collision involving a car and a parked vehicle in Shalford Road at around 3.40pm Sunday (19 July 2026).

A woman in her 80s, a passenger in the car, was taken to hospital in a serious condition, but she has since died.

There were no other reported injuries.
