Two more people have been charged in connection with the death of a 12-year-old boy in Pilgrims Hatch.
Bobby Bloomfield died in hospital after suffering serious injuries in an incident on Ashwells Lane, near Brentwood, on Sunday 7th June.
The latest charges
Essex Police said 65-year-olds William Lunnon and Ruth Lunnon, both of Ashwells Road, Pilgrims Hatch, have now been charged as part of ongoing enquiries.
William Lunnon is charged with perverting the course of justice.
Ruth Lunnon is charged with assisting an offender in relation to a murder.
Both appeared at Basildon Magistrates' Court on Thursday 3rd September and were released on bail.
They are due at Basildon Crown Court on 1st October.
Earlier charges
A 15-year-old boy, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and 43-year-old William Lunnon, of Ashwells Road, Pilgrims Hatch, have already been charged with Bobby's murder.
The teenager has denied the charge, while the 43-year-old has yet to enter a plea.
They are due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on 6th October.
A trial, set to be heard by a High Court judge, is scheduled to begin on 9th November and is expected to last up to six weeks.
Essex Police say enquiries are continuing.
What the court has been told
At an earlier hearing at Chelmsford Magistrates' Court, the prosecution set out its account of how Bobby died.
Prosecutor Rohini Majumdar told the court Bobby and his friends were first approached by the 43-year-old, who asked them to leave private land.
The court heard the group then ran off and were followed by the defendants in a car, which was allegedly being driven by the 15-year-old.
The prosecutor said the vehicle collided with Bobby.
It was alleged the teenager then got out of the car and assaulted Bobby before leaving him at the roadside.
The teenager was remanded to youth detention accommodation and the 43-year-old was remanded in custody.

In statements released through police, Bobby's family have described their grief, calling his loss their "nightmare."
