Greater Anglia has issued an update on rail repairs in Wickford, after a train de-railed there last Friday.
In an update posted on their social media, they say "good progress" has been made in "repairing the railway in the Wickford area."
They say that the first new sleepers and sections of track are now starting to be installed.
"It remains a massive and complex task, with much more work to do to complete the repairs. Our colleagues are working around the clock to re-open the railway and restore the normal service."
The rail operator has confirmed that normal service is set to resume on Wednesday 26th August.
They say the Wickford to Southminster line will remain as a replacement bus service until Friday 28th.
Train services from Southend Victoria should be back to normal by Wednesday.
They have apologised for the ongoing inconvenience and have thanked people for their patience.
