Essex Police are investigating a burglary that was reported to have happened in the Keeble Park area of Maldon on Tuesday 27 January.

A number of suspects forced entry to a home between 11.30am and 6.30pm and stole several items of jewellery.

The victim is Mum of homeware influencer, Sophie Hinchcliffe, also known as 'Mrs Hinch.'

On Instagram, she stated that the jewellery was taken from a "grieving woman", with sentimental items that belonged to her late Dad.

In a statement she said:

"That jewellery may be worthless to you, but it is priceless to my mum.

"She has already lost her husband and is trying to piece her life back together, and you chose to violate her home and rip away what little she had left of him."

She is appealing to the thieves to return the jewellery, even anonymously, and to "do the right thing."

Police say that at this point no arrests have been made and they are pursuing a number of targeted forensics, CCTV and investigative opportunities.

They're urging the public to watch out for the stolen items being sold online or in person.
