Motorcyclist who caused serious injuries in Colchester jailed
A man from Colchester has been jailed for more than four years after seriously injuring a pedestrian in his 80s in a motorcycle collision.
28 year old Kieran Hibble was riding the motorcycle over the speed limit in Queen Street in the city in May 2024 when he collided with the 84-year-old victim. He required urgent hospital treatment.
Hibble was suspected of breaching court orders against multiple victims, as well as conditions set out by the courts to prevent him having more than one mobile device.
DC Brian Sitch, of our Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said:
“Hibble was recklessly riding the motorcycle in Colchester last summer, with no care for the safety of anyone else.
“Witnesses at the scene even saw him reaching out to strike other road users as he was riding in Queen Street.
“It’s only right he’s been given this sentence, which shows how seriously we take the safety of our roads.”
