Kevin Horlock steps down amid criminal investigation into club owners

The manager of Maldon and Tiptree Football Club, has stepped down from his role with immediate effect.

The resignation follows the recent charges against the club's owners, Barrie and Scott Drewitt-Barlow, who are facing serious allegations including rape, sexual assault, and modern slavery trafficking for sexual exploitation.

Kevin Horlock became the manager of Maldon and Tiptree's first team early in 2025.

He concluded what the club described as an 'incredible' year.

In an official statement, the club expressed gratitude for Horlock’s efforts:

"Maldon & Tiptree Football Club can confirm that Kevin Horlock has stepped down from his role as First Team Manager with immediate effect.

We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Kevin for an incredible year at the football club and for all of his hard work, commitment, and dedication throughout his time with us.

Everyone at the club wishes Kevin all the very best for the future."

The club is currently seeking applications for the position of First Team Manager.
