Man suffers broken jaw during assault in Grays
Police are appealing for information
Two women are being searched for by police as they believe they can help their investigation into a reported assault.
The incident was reported on Marisco Close, Chadwell St Marys, Grays, shortly after 9.30pm on Friday.
The man, 40s, sustained a broken jaw and remains in hospital.
Thurrock’s District Commander Danny Barnes said: “This is a very serious assault and is completely unacceptable.
“We have launched an investigation to identify those involved.
“Everyone has the right to feel safe in their community and no one should be subjected to violence or abuse, whether verbally or physically.
“We are particularly keen to hear from two women who may have witnessed the incident or have footage which could assist our investigation. Even the smallest piece of information could prove vital.
“We understand that incidents of this nature can cause concern within our communities and we are working closely with local partners and community representatives to provide reassurance and maintain confidence whilst the investigation continues.
“I would urge anyone who witnessed the incident, has information or footage, to speak to us.”
