Man rescued from water near Southend Pier
Police, Ambulance, RNLI and Coastguard services were all called last night

A man has been retrieved from the sea near to Southend Pier, and has been taken to hospital conscious and breathing.
Essex Police confirmed they were called to the scene last night just before 8:15pm along with several other emergency services.
The East of England Ambulance Service said they were called to reports of one person suffering from cold exposure near Western Esplanade in Southend.
A statement from the force said:
“We were contacted shortly before 8.15pm on Sunday 30 July to reports a male had been retrieved from the sea near Southend pier.
“Colleagues with several partners responded to this incident, including HM Coastguard, RNLI and the ambulance service.
“The male, who was conscious and breathing, was taken on to hospital for further checks.”
