A man from Southend has denied concealing a child's dead body for over a year.

32-year-old James Thorpe pleaded not guilty at Basildon Crown Court to preventing the lawful and decent burial of a child's body for more than year. He has been remanded in custody until the next hearing.

His former partner, Sophie Dean, 31, will enter the same plea at her hearing in October.
