Man in his 20s hospitalised after assault in Colchester

A man in his 20s was hospitalised following an assault in Colchester on .

The emergency services were called shortly after 4.15pm yesterday to Tamarisk Way, Greenstead Estate.

The victim suffered a stab wound to his leg and was taken to hospital, where his injury is not considered life-changing at this stage.

Inspector Martin Willsher said: “An investigation has been launched, and we are working hard to establish what happened that led up to this incident. I know it will have shocked those who were in the vicinity and cause wider community concern.

“But there will be reassurance patrols in the area, and I would encourage anyone to talk to them – whether they have information or concerns – my officers will be there to listen and offer support.

“I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident and has not yet spoken to us, to do so.”

Police are appealing for witnesses and anyone with information, CCTV, dash cam or other footage to get in contact.
