Man charged with multiple arson offences
Essex Police have been investigating a number of fires in Westcliff and Shoeburyness
A man has been charged with several arson offences following a number of fires in Westcliff and Shoeburyness.
Essex Police were called to reports of car fires in Salisbury Avenue and West Road on Tuesday 22 April. A short while later they were alerted to a fire at a property in Bunters Avenue, Shoeburyness.
A man was arrested later the same day.
28 year old Jordan Wood of Bunters Avenue, Shoeburyness, has been charged with two counts of arson with recklessness as to whether life was endangered, one count of arson with intent to endanger life, two counts of arson and one count of possession of a Class B drug.
He appeared at Southend Magistrates Court on Thursday 24 April and was remanded into custody.
He is due to appear at Basildon Crown Court on Thursday 22 May.
