Man charged with attempted murder after Waltham Abbey shooting

A man's been charged with attempted murder after another man was shot in Waltham Abbey.

Officers were called to Howard Close shortly before 3.30pm on Sunday 24 November to reports a man had sustained a serious injury.

He was taken to hospital for treatment to injury to his leg.

His condition was not described as life-threatening.

Two people – a 54 year-old man and a 41 year-old woman – were arrested on conspiracy to commit murder and have since been released on bail until 18 February.

A third person was arrested on Tuesday 26 November.

Thirty-year-old Hamidreza Nasiri, of Holbrook Close, Enfield, has now been charged with attempted murder and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

He is due to appear at Chelmsford Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday 28 November).
