Man charged with attempted murder over Chelmsford incident
A woman remains seriously injured in hospital
A 54-year-old man from Chelmsford has been charged with attempted murder following a disturbance on Regina Road.
The incident occurred shortly after 4.30pm on Saturday (6th June) when police were alerted to reports of a disturbance.
Upon arrival, officers discovered a woman with serious injuries requiring urgent medical attention.
She was promptly transported to hospital, where she remains in a serious condition.
Police apprehended Mark May, of Falmouth Road, Chelmsford, on suspicion of attempted murder during an immediate search of the vicinity.
After receiving medical treatment at the hospital, May was discharged and taken into police custody.
He has now been charged with attempted murder, three breaches of a restraining order, assaulting an emergency worker, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He's scheduled to appear before Chelmsford Magistrates today (Monday 8th June).
