Man arrested after reports of two assaults in Essex

A man has been arrested following two assaults in Southend in the early hours of Saturday morning.

It was reported two victims were assaulted, one in Cromer Road at about 5.25am, and one in Tyrell Drive at about 5.30am.

Both victims remain in hospital with serious injuries.

A 26-year-old man of no fixed abode was arrested and remains in custody.
