M11 southbound in Essex closed after serious crash near Harlow
Drivers face delays as police investigate an overnight collision
Drivers are being diverted after the southbound M11 in Essex was closed between Junction 7 (Harlow) and Junction 6 (M25 Interchange) following a serious crash early this morning.
The collision occurred at 12:50am and involved a vehicle that overturned, coming to rest on its roof on the verge beside the road.
Emergency services and National Highways Traffic Officers remain at the scene, with the closure expected to stay in place to allow police to carry out investigations.
Traffic caught within the closure has now been released.
Diversion route
A diversion is in place, guiding drivers along the Solid Circle route:
- Exit the M11 southbound at Junction 7 onto Hastingwood Interchange
- At the interchange, take the 3rd exit at the roundabout onto the A414 London Road (signposted Harlow)
- Continue along the A414 for 10.5 miles to the A10 interchange
- At the interchange, take the 1st exit onto the A10 southbound (signposted Hoddesdon/Cheshunt/London)
- Follow the A10 for 7 miles until the M25 interchange
- Take the 1st exit at the roundabout to join the M25 clockwise
- Continue to Junction 27 and take the 2nd exit to re-join the M11 southbound at Junction 6
