Lorry carrying 25 tonnes of beer catches fire on M11

Essex fire crews were called out to the southbound carriageway, between Junctions 9 and 8 last night

Essex firefighters have been dealing with a lorry fire on the M11.

Crews from Newport, Saffron Walden and Stansted extinguished the blaze affecting a lorry trailer containing approximately 25 tonnes of beer on Thursday night (3 April).

The fire broke out southbound between Junctions 9 (Saffron Walden) and 8 (Bishop's Stortford) shortly before 8pm.

It was extinguished by 9pm.
