Light aircraft crashes in Essex field

An investigation is underway after a light aircraft crashed in High Ongar.
Police say they were called at 12:30pm on Tuesday 30th June to reports of a crash in a field involving a light aircraft at Mill Lane.
All emergency services remain on the scene as work there continues.
A team of Air Accident Investigators have also been deployed to the scene.
It's not clear yet if there are any injuries.
Details of what led to the crash have not yet been disclosed, and the investigation is ongoing.
Detective Chief Superintendent Morgan Cronin of Essex Police, said: “This is a serious incident, and we understand it will cause concern in the local community.
“We are working closely with emergency service partners to respond and ensure the area is safe.
“We will provide further updates as soon as we are able.
“There will be a visible police presence as we deal with this incident.”
Police ask residents to avoid Mill Lane while this work continues and thank them for their patience and understanding.
