A man suffers life threatening injuries after being hit by a lorry

A pedestrian has been hit by a lorry on the Colchester Road.
The man in his 70's was taken to hospital with life threatnening injuries
It happened between Weeley and Thorpe-Le-Soken at around 11am on Monday February 22.
The road was closed while emergency services attended the scene. It has since re-opened.
"Officers are on scene at a collision on the B1033.
"A lorry was in collision with a pedestrian on Colchester Road between Weeley and Thorpe-Le-Soken around 11am this morning (Monday 22 February).
"A man in his 70s has been taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
"The road is currently closed while officers investigate and it’s anticipated it will remain shut for the next few hours.
"We are urging drivers to avoid the area and plan alternative routes where possible.
