The Hythe Quay dredging project in Maldon has been officially completed following investment and support from the local council and Maldon Harbour Improvement Commissioners.

The project aimed to enhance navigation and waterfront accessibility by removing accumulated silt and debris.

This restoration effort ensures safe access for commercial and leisure vessels alongside the Quay.

Additionally, the visitor pontoon underwent maintenance and is now back in place.

The council say that despite the scale of the works, contractors ensured minimal disruption to the surrounding community.

Cllr Kevin Lagan, Chairman of the Council, said: “I am delighted to announce the successful completion of the Hythe Quay dredging project.

"This project will not only improve navigation but also support local businesses and tourism by ensuring the Quay remains accessible and safe for all users.”
