One person suffers burns during garage fire in Brentwood
Essex Fire and Rescue believe the fire started because the resident was making candles
A garage has been destroyed during a fire in Brentwood.
Firefighters from Billericay, Brentwood, Basildon, Wickford, and Corringham were called out on Monday 21 April near Hunters Chase.
When crews arrived they found a fire which has started in the garage and had spread to three cars, a summer house, a shed and the fence.
Station Manager Rick Williams said: "Crews did a good job to stop the fire from spreading to the house. We believe the fire started because the resident was making wax candles in the garage. This contained a number of flammable items and cylinders which caused the fire to spread quickly."
The resident suffered minor burns and was left in the care of the Ambulance Service.
