Four men have been charged as a result of an investigation which was launched in response to concerns over a gang of people taking over the home of a vulnerable person.

Police were alerted to the ongoing incident at an address in the Braintree district on Sunday 23 March.

Specialist officers forced entry to the home and located four people of interest in the living room area.

All were arrested and a number of electrical items and almost £3,000 in cash were seized.

The group were questioned on suspicion of drug offences.

Tarron Azille, 24, of no fixed address, Musadik Ahmed, 22, of Parnell Road, London, E3, Azhar Ahmed, 22, of Whitethorn Street, London, Greater London, E3, and James Everett, 23, of Harpley Square, London, E1, are all charged with being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.

All four are due in Chelmsford Crown Court for a plea hearing on 22 April.

Safeguarding measures have now been put in place for the vulnerable victim.

'We don't tolerate drug supply in Essex'

Detective Sergeant Jonathan Stephenson said:

“The pace at which this investigation had to be progressed in order to keep a vulnerable person safe should not be underestimated.

“It’s often said that policing isn’t a nine-to-five job – and, as this shows, it really isn’t. Officers from a number of teams came together incredibly quickly to ensure we had an immediate response to this ongoing incident.

“We don’t tolerate the supply of drugs in Essex – or the exploitation that we very sadly see running alongside it and we’ve got teams working round-the-clock to make sure the people we believe to be involved are arrested and put before the courts.”
