Four arrested after reports of fighting in Southend

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm in Southend.

This is a two groups of people were reported to police for fighting in the early hours of Easter Sunday.

A man was found with stab wounds, he has suffered serious injuries.

Chief Superintendent Chris Bradford said: “I understand how concerning this incident will be to the local community today.

“I want to reassure you that officers have made quick arrests and we believe that those involved are known to each other.

“You will see an increased policing presence in the area and I encourage you to come and talk to us. I would also ask anyone who has information, CCTV or dashcam footage to contact us.

“This investigation is in its early stages, but this type of violent behaviour has no place in Southend and we will not tolerate it.”
