Fatal collision in Shoebury leads to arrest
Detectives have arrested a man following a fatal single-vehicle collision in Shoebury in which a woman died
Detectives investigating a crash on Royal Artillery Way in Shoebury have arrested a man and are asking the public for information or footage related to the incident.
Emergency services were called to the scene shortly before 11.30pm on Tuesday 20 May after a single vehicle collided with a tree. A woman in her 30s was taken to hospital with serious injuries but later died. Her family have been informed and are receiving support.
A 43-year-old man from Shoeburyness was arrested at the scene. He is currently in custody being questioned on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drugs, possession of Class A drugs, and driving without a valid licence or insurance.
The investigation is being carried out by the Serious Collision Investigation Unit.
