Two men arrested in Essex human trafficking and rape investigation
Co-ordinated police searches conducted in Danbury, Maldon, and Braintree
Essex Police detectives have arrested two men as part of an investigation into human trafficking for sexual exploitation, rape, and other sexual offences.
The arrests and a series of search warrants were conducted today, 6th May, by officers from the Serious Crime Directorate.
Property searches are ongoing across several locations in Danbury, Maldon, and Braintree.
Two men from Danbury are currently in custody:
A 57-year-old is suspected of rape, human trafficking for sexual exploitation, and administering a noxious substance.
A 32-year-old faces similar allegations including rape, human trafficking for sexual exploitation, and administering a noxious substance.
Detective Inspector Lydia George, who is leading the investigation, said: “If anyone has any information they feel ready to share with us,
"I would ask them to contact us via the Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) and the investigation team will provide you with any specialist support required.”
