Drivers warned about closures to Rayleigh High Street
It will be closed from 9th March to 13th March from 8pm each night
An Essex high street will be closed for almost a week overnight due to “essential” works. Drivers are being warned about the closure of Rayleigh High Street in two weeks time.
Essex County Council will be carrying out the works to potholes and gullies. The busy Essex street will be closed from 8pm to 5am each night from March 9 to March 13. Drivers will have a diversion in place during these times.
Essex Highways posted about the closure. A spokesman said: “We’re preparing to carry out essential surfacing works on Rayleigh High Street, between Crown Hill and London Hill.
“The works will involve removing and replacing the existing road surface, including adjusting or replacing manholes and gullies where needed. To ensure these works can be completed safely, a full overnight road closure will be in place.
“Diversion routes will be clearly signposted, and the road will reopen each morning to allow normal traffic to resume. The access to the Websters Way car park will remain available throughout.”
