Dispersal order in place until tonight on Southend seafront
A dispersal order has been in place since last night (Friday 11 July)
A dispersal order is in place today - until this evening on Southend seafront.
The order will be in place until 7:30pm and covers the area shown on the map including Southend city centre and the Southend Victoria/Southend Central train stations, as well as the seafront extending either side of the pier.
Essex Police said it gives their officers the power to direct people suspected of taking part in and causing anti-social behaviour to leave the area or face arrest.
Acting Inspector Luke Gamman said: “Members of the public have the right to use our public space without concerns of anti-social behaviour
“These are busy parts of our district in the summer months and everyone is entitled to use these spaces in a respectful manner.”
