Customers urged to "continue to support" local high street businesses in Brentwood
Brentwood Connected are encouraging people to shop in the town
A road closure in Brentwood High Street has led to encouragement for customers to "continue to support" local businesses in the town.
Brentwood Connected is encouraging people to shop in the high street, despite the road closures.
The road will be closed for five weeks, until October 27th, as essential gas works and resurfacing is taking place.
In interview with Greatest Hits Radio, Sarah Walmslet, Business Improvement District Manager for Brentwood Connected said:
“This is essential maintenance and future-proofing. It’s temporary disruption. We’ve launched a ‘business open as usual’ campaign, helping shops get the message out on social media and our website. We’re urging regular customers: allow a little extra time, but please keep supporting your high street.”
She said that parking is still the same despite the works:
"There's lots of parking either side of the High Street having the road closed in the middle. It just means there's just going to be a little bit of extra time to park. But the parking is still readily available."
"We do need our regulars to continue to support the High Street."
"Don't let the road closure put you off."
"Please support our high streets."
