Crews deal with fire on Harwich’s High Street

Firefighters have tackled a blaze in a derelict building on Harwich’s High Street

25 crews were called, with neighbours evacuated as a precaution - and the fire’s believed to have been started on purpose.

Essex fire and rescue service stated:

"Around 25 firefighters are tackling the fire which is affecting a derelict building. Neighbouring flats are being evacuated as a precautionary measure.

"The fire has been extinguished. The fire is believed to have been started deliberately."
