Cordon in place in Brentwood street while specialists examine items found at address
Homes have been evacuated as a precaution
A 100-metre cordon is in place in a Brentwood street so that small items found inside an address can be examined safely.
Essex Police said the cordon in Sawyers Grove is a precaution while specialists assess the items.
A number of homes within the cordon have been evacuated as a precaution while the work continues.
Officers were first called to reports of a neighbour dispute in Sawyers Grove at around 7.20am this morning.
Police said it was reported that a door had been damaged.
Officers forced entry to an address, where a man and a woman were arrested.
During a search of the address, a number of small items were found that needed specialist assessment.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal experts were called to the scene and are examining the items to establish what they are.
Police thanked the public for their patience and said they will issue an update as soon as they can.
