Colchester woman dies in bedroom fire

A woman has died in a fire in her bedroom in Colchester.

Firefighters were called to a ground floor maisonette in the early hours of this morning after neighbours heard a smoke alarm going off.

Sadly a woman died at the scene.

The cause of the fire has been recorded as accidental.
