Passenger dies in single-car crash, driver arrested

Police are appealing for information following a fatal collision in Colchester that occurred on 19th April.

The incident happened on Northern Approach at around 6.30am involving a single car.

Tragically, the passenger, a 37-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

His family has been notified and is receiving support from police officers.

The driver, a 37-year-old woman from Maldon, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving, driving while unfit through drink or drugs, and possession of a Class B drug.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

Officers are appealing to any witnesses or individuals with relevant doorbell or dashcam footage to come forward and assist with the investigation.

This appeal aims to piece together the circumstances leading to the collision.
