Rishik Parmar sentenced after Operation Raptor investigation
A county lines dealer has been sentenced to two years and six months in prison for drug-related offences and a knife crime incident in Colchester.
Rishik Parmar, 21, of Court Wood Lane, Croydon, was apprehended following an extensive investigation by Operation Raptor, a dedicated drug enforcement team.
Parmar faced numerous charges, including being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, possession with intent to supply these drugs, possessing criminal property, and threatening a person with a bladed article in a public place.
Operating the 'Fifty' drug line across Colchester, Parmar sold harmful drugs, linked to the death of a drug user last November, to vulnerable users and engaged in exploitation.
Detectives identified Parmar as the individual involved in a knife altercation in Eld Lane, Colchester, on 16th October last year, where he threatened a teenage boy.
Parmar was captured on CCTV smiling and fist-bumping another man following the incident.
On 16th April, a warrant aided entry to a Colchester address where Parmar was caught by surprise and arrested.
Seized items included heroin and crack cocaine valued at approximately £20,000, as well as a phone, sim card, and £2,700 in cash.
DI Mark Jones of Operation Raptor commented:
“Parmar was responsible for bringing harmful drugs into Colchester, exploiting vulnerable people and fuelling the misery that county lines activity causes in our communities."
“The evidence gathered by our officers left him with little option but to admit his offending, and today's sentence reflects the seriousness of his actions."
The investigation underscores the link between county lines drug activity, violence, and exploitation within communities.
Parmar's sentencing aligns with ongoing efforts to reduce knife-enabled crime, which has seen a 5% decline in incidents as officers continue community engagement.
