£53 million worth of cocaine seized by officers at a port in Thurrock
Over 500 kilos of drugs were found at the London Gateway port
A huge haul of over five hundred kilos of cocaine has been discovered at London Gateway port near Thurrock.
Police say the drugs, found last Friday (13 February) , are worth about 53 million pounds.
Officers arrested a forty-four year old man, who now faces charges of importing both class A drugs.
A 44-year-old man from the Goole area was arrested in Manchester in connection with the seizure and been charged with conspiracy to import Class A drugs and a separate charge of conspiracy to import 872 kilos of cannabis in November 2025.
He appeared before magistrates in Leeds and was remanded to appear before Leeds Crown Court in March.
